In response to WDC Taipei 2016, the “AIC-American Innovation Pavilion” jointly organized by the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), the MOEA, and executed by the American Innovation Center Taiwan and the Taiwan Design Center, opens tomorrow and runs through October 30 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei. The pavilion is open to visitors every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free and the pavilion welcomes all visitors.
AIC-American Innovation Pavilion presents a combination of experiences and exhibitions, showcasing America’s innovative new technology and Taiwan’s innovative energy. The curatorial theme focuses on the latest tech trends such as AI, robots, IoT, VR, digital learning, and the maker movement. The event features participation by over 20 local and foreign companies, including IBM Taiwan, Microsoft Taiwan, National Geographic, Coretronic Corporation Young Lighting, China Medical University Hospital, and HTC.
Today’s opening ceremony (12) was cohosted by AIT Director Kin Moy and IDB Director-General Wu Ming-ji. Distinguished guests included Minister without Portfolio Audrey Tang, Dr. Tao Yi-fen, head of the North American Liaison Office, and Chiu Chiou-hui, head of the Department of Academia-Industry Collaboration and Science Park Affairs, MOST. Minister Tang gave his opening remarks through VR technology using the highfidelity.io platform, and provided guests with a glimpse into the amazing future of technology.
This exhibition features diverse contents, such as digital multi-media, digital interactive devices, VR, 3D printer and products, and maker merchandise, as the organizers hope to let visitors experience future technology and digital fabrication through the exhibits.
