2017 Smart City Summit & Expo to focus on IoT

The 2017 Taipei Smart City Summit & Expo, which will focus on the development and application of the Internet of Things (IoT), is slated to be held at the World Trade Center's Nangang Exhibition Hall from Feb. 21 to Feb. 24.

"Smart cities are a crucial field for the application of IoT, which is in turn a vital foundation for the realization of intelligent communities," according to the Taipei Computer Association, one of the organizers of the event.

The B2B-oriented summit and expo, touted as the most comprehensive IoT and smart city trade show in the Asia-Pacific region, also showcases cutting-edge products and services in the information technology, logistics and transportation, renewable energy and energy conservation, and related sectors, organizers said.

Last year's event attracted more than 15,000 participants, over 1,000 international visitors and 157 exhibitors to take part and seek business opportunities and partners, according to the organizers.
