Support more than 20 research organizations, including 7 major partner institutes, in developing key advanced industrial technologies and establishing industrial innovation corridors; improving the R&D environment and infrastructure; promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and facilitating R&D results for industrial applications.

 

Reserch Institutes Overview
Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) ITRI, one of the world’s leading technology R&D institutions, has been pioneering industrial development since 1973. Through its branches across the world, ITRI has incubated more than 145 spin-off/spin-in companies. Besides, its incubation centers also help incubate and deliver services to 143 innovative companies.
Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) MIRDC continuously develops leading technologies in metal and related areas such as Forming, Automotive, Mold & Precision Machining, Medical Device Technology and Healthcare.
Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB) DCB is dedicated to R&D in biologics, pharmaceuticals, CAR-T cell therapy, and innovative and explorative research in the preclinical stage of development and setting top priorities for attaining Investigational New Drug approvals by domestic and foreign regulatory agencies.
Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) TTRI offers various textile businesses with customized service and the multi-integrated and transformative service. In addition, TTRI specializes in the research and development of raw materials and yarn formation, product development, innovation, and advanced technology research, as well as textile intelligent manufacturing, textile testing & certification, training program and consulting.
Food Industry Research and Development Institute (FIRDI) FIRDI is one of the most comprehensive food research institutes in Taiwan. FIRDI strives to improve the safety, sanitation, and quality of processed foods. Bioresource Collection and Research Center (BCRC), established within FIRDI, is a core facility for bioresources bank and is the most comprehensive bioresource center in Taiwan and in Asia, respectively.
Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC) Backed by numerous laboratories, ARTC has disposes of a global certification network in conjunction with European and US counterparts, providing one-stop services from R&D, design, manufacturing to certification to help Taiwan-made components compete in the global market.
Ship and Ocean Industries R&D Center (SOIC) SOIC supports the development of Taiwan’s marine industry, applying its R&D achievements to marine engineering planning, ship and ocean platform design, technical services, and knowledge integration services.
