Taiwan Expo 2021 Thailand held its opening ceremony on September 29! One hundred seventy-five exhibitors from Taiwan participated in the event that had 3 sub-themes and 11 virtual pavilions. From September 29 to October 29, the online expo is the ideal platform for business, industry and culture.
Well-known buyers are expected to take part in the event. They include the sole operator of 7-Eleven convenience stores in Thailand, CP All, the Bangkok mass transit train service provider, BTS, and Synnex, Thailand’s largest wholesaler in the ICT industry. They were scheduled to participate in over 326 online procurement meetings.
The Director General of the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Cynthia Kiang, Chairman of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), James C. F. Huang, and Deputy Executive Director of Thailand Trade and Economic Office Sunh Arunrugstichai all delivered speeches on the opening ceremony. Director General Kiang of the BOFT said that in recent years, Thailand has launched a series of policies such as Thailand 4.0 and Digital Thailand which have accelerated the growth of local e-commerce. In addition to our current cooperation on the green economy and circular economy with Thailand, Taiwan hopes to have further collaboration on intelligent manufacturing, smart healthcare, smart city and smart transportation, and intelligent agriculture. Taiwan Expo uses cloud systems to promote greater business cooperation.
The event organizers had also invited well-known Thai influencers to help promote Taiwanese products to the Thai market. The exhibition hall was designed as a large-scale digital live room and its events stage has enormous laptops as background. Exhibitors could become celebrities just by stepping onto the stage and introduce their products in the style of a live show. A video conference system broadcasts them live on Facebook. Taiwan exhibitors interacting with Thai visitors online and thus with zero social distancing could better showcase their products to the international market.
