Today (20) the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Lithuanian Laser Association, the Taiwan Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA), and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) signed the "Ultrafast Laser Technology & Innovation Center Quadrilateral Cooperation MOU". Taiwan and Lithuania will jointly establish an "Ultrafast Laser Technology Research & Innovation Center" in the South Campus of the ITRI this year. Lithuania will provide a variety of laser products, and ITRI's key technologies in system integration would facilitate joint development of laser applications. TEEMA and TAMI would be responsible for linking with Taiwan's 3C, electronic components, communications, medical material and machinery industries, offering cooperation to member companies in technology development, and setting the groundwork for new horizons for the electronics and machine tool industries.
