According to the statistics, 1,116 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$8,784,572,000 were approved from January to June 2022. This indicates a decrease of 15% in the number of cases, but a increase of 275.65% in FDI amount compared to the same period of 2021.
   With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 29 cases were approved with an amount of US$17,035,000 from January to June 2022. This indicates a increase of 45% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 36.40% in the FDI amount compared to the same period of 2021. From July 2009 to June 2022, 1,539 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$2,544,561,000.
   In terms of Taiwan’s outbound investment (excluding Mainland China), 256 projects were registered from January to June 2022 with a total amount of US$4,215,449,000, indicating an increase of 28% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 4.25% in the amount, as compared to the same period of 2021.

   As for Taiwan’s outward investment to Mainland China, 191 applications have been approved from January to June 2022, indicating a decrease of 5.91% compared to the same period of 2021. The approved investment amount is US$1,795,577,000, 19.06% more than the same period in 2021.
