MOEA coordinates matters concerning labels of origin for goods exported to China
Recently, there have been news reports that China's Customs requires imported goods from Taiwan and documents of such imports to be labeled or marked as "Made in Taiwan, China." The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and other relevant ministries have been closely monitoring this situation and will maintain close contacts with companies and industry associations in order to provide assistance in a timely manner.

If Taiwanese companies exporting goods to China encounter detainment of exports by China's Customs because the goods or declaration documents are required to be labeled or marked as "Made in Taiwan, China," they are encouraged to provide the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) with relevant information, such as the customs ports, importers, customs brokers, and descriptions of goods. Then, the Customs Administration under the MOF will contact China's Customs to deal with the situation.
