Taiwan-U.S. Business Forum Held in Washington, D.C.
The Taiwan-U.S. Business Forum was held in Washington, D.C. on October 12. Minister of Economic Affairs Mei-hua Wang mentioned in her opening remarks that the industries of Taiwan and the U.S. have long-term close cooperation and can build a "Dream Team" to drive the global economy. In fact, both sides could cooperate further in three ways: responding to global economic changes, building more secure and resilient supply chains, and grasping more business opportunities through industrial cooperation.

The MOEA also stated that Taiwan and the U.S. both play important roles in global supply chains and have already established several platforms for cooperation, including the Economic Prosperity Partnership Dialogue (EPPD) and the Technology Trade and Investment Collaboration (TTIC) framework. Both sides will continue to be mutual supply chain partners in the critical semiconductor, EV, and next generation communication industries by holding various events to facilitate exchanges between Taiwanese and U.S. business stakeholders.

The MOEA said Minister Wang led a business delegation to the U.S. and jointly held the Business Forum with American counterparts. More than 40 companies from the semiconductor, cloud, network equipment, EV, ICT, and automobile industries participated in the Forum. They exchanged views on enhancing bilateral supply chain cooperation and resilience which will facilitate cooperation between Taiwanese and U.S. companies, build much more comprehensive industrial ecosystems, and fortify a closer bilateral partnership.

The participants of the Forum also agreed that through direct talks, stakeholders from bothsides could learn more about their respective regulations and policy directions. Furthermore, they could exchange views on industrial cooperation issues and jointly vie for future cooperation opportunities more constructively.
