Taiwan's Smart Industry Trade Mission Visits Thailand
Following the smart industry trade mission's visit to Malaysia, which was led by Director General Ms. Cynthia Kiang of the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), it moved on to its second stop in Thailand on December 1 for one-on-one trade meetings. This visit helped with Taiwan's industrial deployments for Thailand's smart city transformation.

The smart Industry trade mission focused on cold chain logistics and smart transportation in Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, with the aim of looking for export opportunities in the post-pandemic era. The trade mission attracted 75 Thai buyers who engaged in more than 170 trade meetings with 23 Taiwanese suppliers, which were expected to generate business opportunities worth US$15 million.

In order to enhance interaction between the industries of Taiwan and Thailand, the trade mission also visited some local organizations, including the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), a supplier of IT system solutions, the Bangkok government, the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS), and the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT). These encounters will lay the foundation for further interaction and future opportunities to cooperate on developing Thailand's smart transportation. Some delegates stated that they obtained first-hand information about Thailand's smart city transformation through this trade mission, which would be great reference for Taiwan's further industrial development.
