Taiwan & EU Business Networking Reception
To promote interaction and exchange between Taiwanese and European businesses, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) commissioned the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) to hold the  "Taiwan & EU Business Networking Reception" on May 30. More than 250 people attended, including officials of the European Commission, industry clusters, SMEs, representatives of the EU and its member states in Taiwan, the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT), Taiwanese commercial chambers and associations, and Taiwanese businesses with market deployments in Europe.

The MOEA launched the "Taiwan & EU Business Networking Reception" in 2020. It provides a platform for bilateral industry clusters, commercial chambers and associations, and businesses to engage in meaningful interaction.

Minister Wang Mei-Hua of the MOEA delivered opening remarks in which she expressed her gratitude to Deputy Director-General Maive Rute of DG Grow for leading the EU delegation of over a hundred representatives from member states to Taiwan in order to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Minister Wang also thanked to the EU for its unwavering support and emphasized that Taiwan stands with like-minded democratic partners. Since Taiwan plays a crucial role in global supply chains, particularly in the ICT and semiconductor industries, it is a valuable partner to the EU.

The EU is Taiwan's 4th largest trading partner and bilateral investments have steadily increased in recent years. The MOEA will continue to promote economic, trade, and industrial cooperation between Taiwan and the EU to generate more business opportunities.
