Taisugar Safety Pork Leads Green Energy and Circular Economy Trend. Continuously Maintains CAS Agricultural Product Certification
The Taiwan Sugar Corporation (Taisugar) attaches importance to environmental sustainability and food safety. Taisugar is the first pork brand in Taiwan to establish a complete production and marketing traceability system and has been awarded the Certified Agricultural Standards (CAS) label. This Wednesday, Taisugar will be recognized during the CAS Product Outstanding Manufacturer Award Ceremony. Furthermore, Taisugar Safety Pork will attend the Taipei International Food Show and present the achievements of green energy recycling pig farming and the series of products of Safety Pork from the 14th to the 17th of June.

The CAS label is a certification system introduced by the Council of Agriculture in 1989 to improve the quality of agricultural products in Taiwan. Since the beginning of the CAS label of implementation, Taisugar has invested resources to improve the quality of its products and has been awarded the CAS label for its fresh frozen pork, pork meatballs and pork meat floss products produced from its self-raised pigs. This year, to mark the 35th year since the launch of the CAS label system, Taisugar was invited to attend the award ceremony held at the Taipei International Food Show on the 14th and received recognition as a top-performing manufacturer.

According to Taisugar, the company has always focused on providing consumers with excellent products, and all Taisugar meat processing plants have obtained ISO 22000 and HACCP international certifications to ensure world-class food hygiene and safety. In addition, Taisugar values environmental sustainability and has actively updated its pig farming equipment with the concept of circular economy in recent years. This includes the construction of curtain-type pig farms, promoting biogas and solar power generation, reusing biogas sludge and liquid fertilizer, and recycling water resources. These efforts aim to create environmentally friendly and green energy circular pig farms. The first green energy circular pig farm, Donghai Feng Agriculture Circular Park (Dong Hai Feng Green Pig Farm), was inaugurated in 2020, and this year, the Huwei farm has entered the trial operation phase. Subsequently, 12 more green energy pig farms will be renovated, with Taisugar committed to leading Taiwan's livestock industry towards a new era of innovative architecture, technology-based farming, green energy value-added practices and circular resources, thus ushering in a new era in Taiwan's livestock production practices.

In addition to CAS certification, Taiwan Sugar has also received 51 carbon labels and SGS water footprint certification from the Environmental Protection Administration, making it an excellent meat product that is both safe for consumption and is environmentally sustainable. From the 14th to the 17th of this month, Taisugar will participate in the Taipei International Food Show to showcase the achievements of green energy recycling pig farming and the series of products of the Safety Pork, and the Taisugar booth will offer a variety of products for tasting and promotional sales campaigns.
