Taiwan Innotech Expo 2023 (TIE) starts today (Oct. 12th) at Taipei World Trade Center's Exhibition Hall 1. Eleven government agencies collaborated to carefully plan this global tech extravaganza that immediately attracted the participation of many companies at the opening along with visitor crowds. We're expecting even more visitors in the following two days.
The Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA), Ministry of Economic Affairs, stated that a total of 14 domestic and 2 foreign companies with advanced innovative technological capabilities are participating in the physical and online exhibition this year (2023). Applications of the technological products include net-zero transformation, AIoT, smart mobility, cyber security and healthcare. These innovative products and solutions are highly applicable in practical scenarios, and are capable of solving the pain points of industrial applications. As a result, they have attracted eager inquiries from domestic and foreign industry players.

Secretary-General Hsieh, Long-Fon (   ) of the SMESA stated that Taiwan's small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have demonstrated remarkable resilience during the three-year pandemic period. As the pandemic gradually subsides, SMEs are encouraged to be more flexible and innovative. The flexible operations, keen market insights, and extraordinary creativity of SMEs are crucial capabilities for continuously developing new products and solutions. The SMESA is dedicated to connecting SMEs with business and cross-field collaboration opportunities. The TIE 2023 is the best platform for outstanding SMEs to shine and demonstrate their strong research and development capabilities.

The SMESA pointed out that last year (2022), about 500 companies from 20 countries showcased their products at 967 booths at TIE. The three-day show attracted nearly 20,000 attendees from the industry, government, academic, and research sectors. This year (2023), as we gradually bounce back from the impacts of the pandemic and turns our life back to normal states, people are more eager to embrace innovative technologies, hoping that these technological applications will lead to a more convenient, low-carbon, and healthier living situation. As a result, the number of visitors to TIE 2023 should be greater than the previous years.

The physical TIE 2023 will be showcased at Taipei World Trade Center's Exhibition Hall 1 until October 14, while the online exhibition will continue until March 6 next year. Visitors are welcome to participate either offline or online and engage with the exhibitors.
