According to the statistics, 2,102 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$10,791,412,000 were approved from January to November 2023. This indicates a decrease of 8.89% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 13.04% in FDI amount compared to the same period of 2022.

With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 24 cases were approved with an amount of US$27,386,000 from January to November 2023. This indicates a decrease of 45.45% in the number of cases, and an decrease of 21.65% in the FDI amount compared to the same period of 2022. From July 2009 to November 2023, 1,580 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$2,593,641,000.

In terms of Taiwan's outbound investment (excluding Mainland China), 504 projects were registered from January to November 2023 with a total amount of US$22,814,107,000, indicating an increase of 2.44% in the number of cases, and an increase of 145.61% in the amount, as compared to the same period of 2022.

As for Taiwan's outward investment to Mainland China, 305 applications have been approved from January to November 2023, indicating a decrease of 7.58% compared to the same period of 2022. The approved investment amount is US$2,964,850,000, 33.91% less than the same period in 2022.
