MOEA leads delegation to Japan for the 2023 Taiwan Expo
Minister of Economic Affairs Mei-Hua Wang led a delegation to Japan for the 2023 Taiwan Expo Japan, which was held from November 9-11. This event opened a new chapter in Taiwan-Japan relations, deepening the partnership between the two countries in key industrial supply chains, such as semiconductors, 5G, AIoT innovation applications, automotive electronics.

This marked the first time for the Taiwan Expo to be held in Japan. It centered on the theme of "A Vision of Intelligent Sustainability" and showcased aspects of daily life, such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, entertainment, and healthcare. The exhibition displayed Taiwanese technologies and products in digital transformation and green transformation through immersive scenarios. Additionally, it featured beloved Taiwanese snacks and souvenirs, with 135 Taiwanese companies participating. The exhibition concluded successfully in Tokyo's Shinjuku on November 11, attracting over 20,000 visitors during the three-day event and generating business opportunities worth 85 million USD.

The Expo not only showcased the technological strengths and beautiful culture of Taiwan but also noted the close cooperation between Taiwan and Japan in various ways. In the near future, both countries will jointly share experience and develop opportunities in the global digital economy, while further expanding smart applications in the field of digital transition and low-carbon economies as part of their contributions to global sustainability.
