The winners for the 2024 Taiwan International Orchid Show and the 23rd World Orchid Conference were announced. Taisugar Phalaenopsis remained outstanding, winning 8 awards in total. "P.Taisuco Hearty X P.Taisuco Green Apple" and "P.Taisuco Glitter," won the "First Place" medals in the large-flowered category. From now until March 10, visitors are welcome to view the Taisugar's award-winning Phalaenopsis orchids at ICC Tainan.
More than 1,600 orchids were submitted to the Individual Orchids Competition at the Show this year, so the competition was very fierce. Eight phalaenopsis orchids from Taiwan Sugar Corporation won two first place medals, one second place medal and five third place medals after 233 domestic and international judges carefully selected these orchids, demonstrating Taisugar a remarkable achievement. Taisugar emphasized that only six first place medals were selected in the large-flowered phalaenopsis category, in which two phalaenopsis orchids from Taisugar "Taisuco Panda P.Taisuco Hearty X P.Taisuco Green Apple" and "Taisuco Glitter P.Taisuco Glitter" won first place medals together, showing that Taisugar's outstanding skills in cultivating phalaenopsis orchids.
According to Taisugar, the most popular "P.Taisuco Hearty X P.Taisuco Green Apple" at this year's Orchid Show is a new plant bred from the 2022 Orchid Show's champion orchid, "P. Taisuco Berylline." It has strong fuzzy red dots, as well as the green apple's unique shiny flower color and green and white lip, with a pattern that looks exactly like a panda's face, making it very unique. P.Taisuco Glitter is bred from a popular breed in the Japanese market, and then further improved and optimized, with white flowers and bright red lips, just like a warm winter sun after a heavy snowfall. P.Taisuco Glitter is beautiful and full of joy, and is perfect for a congratulation gift once it is available in the market.
Taisugar added that "P.Taisuco Newness," the second place winner, has the advantages of neat arrangement and high bifurcation, with over 90% of double spiking, making it an excellent orchid for sale. The third place winners include "T.Taisuco Deiform," "P.Taisuco Ovation," "P.Taisuco Hearty," "P.Charmer x P.Hornglin Angela" and "P.Pink yukidian". All of them are characterized by their light, elegant and durable flowers, giving them a distinctive and unique charm.
According to Taisugar, this year's Orchid Show will be held in two exhibition areas. All Taisugar's award-winning orchids will be displayed at ICC Tainan. At the marketplace of Taiwan Orchid Plantation in Wushulin, Taiwan Sugar also displays award-winning phalaenopsis orchids, including "P. Taisuco Berylline," "Phal. Taisuco Anna" and "Phal.amabilis" in a Lanyu canoe to convey an image that integrates phalaenopsis orchids with their native regions and various breeds, as well as opens up a new milestone for Taiwanese orchids to rise up to the world. Phalaenopsis orchid pots were also on sale, as well as a collection of orchid extracts developed by the Biotech Business Division of Taiwan Sugar Corporation. For every orchid purchase over NT$1,000, you may choose a free "Stanlen Centella Asiatica Repairing Mask" or a ticket to the Liuying Jianshanpi Resort; for every biotech product purchase over NT$3,000, you may receive a free phalaenopsis orchid. Visitors with orchid show ticket receipts may receive discounts at Liuying Jianshanpi Resort and Wushulin Recreation Park by the end of March. Taisugar welcomes everyone to visit Tainan to see the orchids and the city.
