The "Taiwan Expo in India," promoted by the International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), opened on July 8 in New Delhi, India. This year's Expo had a significant 30% increase in participating companies compared to last year, with over a hundred exhibitors showcasing their products under the themes of "Smart Technology" and "Green Energy." They also collaborated on developing business opportunities in the Indian market.
The exposition ran for three days, attracting about 15,000 visitors and 1,200 buyers. It featured five major thematic areas, "smart manufacturing," "sustainable development," "smart cities," "smart living," and "health and wellness," all of which highlighted Taiwan's industrial strengths. It showcased Taiwan's advancements in solar energy storage, electric vehicles, and charging technologies, as well as lifestyle product solutions that integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IOT), thereby aligning with India's current policies, such as "Make in India," "Digital India," and "Green India."
This year's Expo also introduced an innovative approach to cross-industry alliances, integrating the three sectors of petrochemicals, machinery, and textiles. A "Smart Machinery Pavilion" and a "Sustainable Innovative Textile Zone" were set up to jointly promote and concretely present various innovative applications of smart solutions across all the supply chains.
Additionally, the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF), marking a solid first step towards collaborative efforts between the two industries.
TITA indicated that as India's manufacturing sector expands and transforms, the resulting demands in consumer goods and manufacturing will drive the development of other industries, such as petrochemicals, textiles, packaging, and building materials, thereby creating more opportunities for Taiwanese businesses.
