The Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Department of Information and Technology Education of the Ministry of Education, and the Chinese Society of Information Management jointly held the 22nd InnoServe Awards in 2017 at National Taiwan University Sports Center on November 4th. A total of 2,500 people forming 400 teams from 119 colleges, universities and general and vocational high schools competed in the contest.Twenty-three teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and other Asia-Pacific economies were invited to participate in the annual event, and 147 representatives from industry, government and academia were invited to serve as judges. The contest organized talent-matching sessions for the ICT industry to acquire suitable talent, making the contest a mutually beneficial platform.

Echoing President Tsai’s proposed Industrial Transformation Plan and based on the policy of academia-industry collaboration and talent nurturing, the contest set up categories according to businesses’ needs and the government’s major policy of infusing students’ information management projects with more practical value. According to our survey, more than 60% of participating students have entered the ICT industry and more than 75% academia-industry collaboration project have been adapted by businesses. This year, our themes include IoT, FinTech, open data, agile development, apps, the digital economy, cloud services, and other emerging fields and technology applications. The contest is the best platform for industry to obtain creativity and talent.
