Traditional Industry South Team Helps Made-in-Taiwan Home Appliance Industries Acquire MIT SMILE Logo
Organization: Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA        Publish Date: 2017-11-15 08:49
The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has been proactively promoting the MIT (Made in Taiwan) SMILE Logo and its quality certification system for Taiwan-produced household appliances. Through the Industrial Development Bureau’s Home Appliance Industry Guidance Plan and under the guidance of the MOEA Industrial Upgrading and Transformation Services Group’s Traditional Industry South Team, many home appliance manufacturers such as TECO, Tatung, Panasonic, HITACHI, and Famiclean have acquired the MIT (Made in Taiwan)  SMILE Logo in recent years, thus fulfilling government policies in assisting home appliance industries to expand overseas markets, and also implementing innovative development and sustainable growth policies.

The MIT (Made in Taiwan) SMILE Logo Home Appliance Theme Pavilion was set up during the Taipei International Electronics Show (TAITRONICS) with the assistance of the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre’s Home Appliance Industry Guidance Task Force and Traditional Industry South Team, showcasing several top-quality home appliances that have won MIT Golden Awards, including Tatung’s AI rice cooker, Panasonic Taiwan’s ECO NAVI and Nanoe Technology inverter washing machine, and JTL’s glass table gas stove. Local home appliance makers such as Tatung and TECO were invited to take part in the Smart Home Appliance Theme Pavilion, which was also set up to promote and exhibit smart home appliances by providing live interaction and situational models.

The MIT (Made in Taiwan) SMILE Logo Home Appliance Theme Pavilion won the favor of both overseas buyers and the local public by exhibiting the high-quality image attributed to Taiwan-produced home appliances. Through the support of consumers and overseas buyers, the Traditional Industry South Team of the MOEA’s Industrial Upgrading and Transformation Services Group, as well as the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre, will continue to provide technology-upgrading guidance to help enterprises increase their products’ added value and develop high-value products comprising innovative smart functions, high-tech design, and aesthetic craftsmanship. They will also continue to assist enterprises in acquiring the MIT SMILE Logo Certification in hopes of achieving a win-win situation for manufacturers and consumers by promoting better recognition of the MIT SMILE Logo among consumers and enterprises, so that consumers can buy safe, reliable, and high-quality products made in Taiwan.
