MOEA Leading Taiwan's SMEs Visit to Malaysia opening up opportunities for Taiwan-Malaysia Industrial Cooperation

In line with the New Southbound Policy, as an effort to enhance international presence of Taiwan, as well as to facilitate the entry of Taiwan's SMEs into the Malaysian market, the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan, together with Malaysia SME Corp., co-organized The 3rd Taiwan-Malaysia SME Cooperation and Business Matching, in conjunction with the APEC International Event. Led by Wen-Ling Su, the Deputy Director General, representatives from Taiwan's SME formed the [2019 Malaysia Business Matching Group], an avenue for both countries to expand the information communication between each other, widen the international horizon as well as to boost co-operation opportunities for SMEs of both countries.
Our country and Malaysia have been co-organizing the Malaysia-Taiwan Business Matching Events since year 2017. Today, there are 13 Taiwan's SMEs and 21 Malaysia's SMEs having in-depth communication and cooperation with each other. This is particularly remarkable in the medical field, where many effective and positive communication and co-operation between both countries are going on actively. With the basis of commendable development and outcomes, we continue to co-organize the SME Cooperate and Business Matching together with Malaysia SME Corp. this year (2019).

According to the World Economic Forum (WEF) publication, [The Global Competitiveness Report 2017 - 2018] State of Cluster Development, Taiwan ranked 2nd in the world, marking the outstanding competitiveness of Taiwan's SMEs. This year, in the Taiwan-Malaysia Cooperation and Business Matching Event, both countries focused on the medical and aesthetic related industries. 7 integrated Taiwan's enterprise, together with 7 participating Malaysia's SMEs, had close-distance in-depth discussions and diversified communications that brought both parties to expand each other's market range, as well as to create better business opportunities between both countries. This is also an effort to assist Taiwan's SMEs in line with the ultimate goal of New Southbound Policy.
