Starting October 22, 2020, Non-Medical Face Mask Imports Should be Labeled the Correct Place of Origin
To protect the rights and interests of consumers, and stop illegal imports of face masks being sold as Taiwan-made masks, imported non-medical face masks should be labeled with the correct place of origin starting October 22, 2020.

The BOFT informs that imported non-medical face masks (CCC6307.90.50.39-3 Other masks, of textile materials) shall have their place of origin labelled on each of the smallest unit of packaging and should be obvious and easily recognizable in appearance. Non-labelled or mis-labelled masks will not be permitted for import.

The BOFT also states for that imported face masks that do not comply with labelling regulations, the importer can submit application for re-labeling from the BOFT. Face masks are only permitted for importation after correct labeling has been applied.
