Taiwan Trade and Investment Delegation Visits the Czech Republic
The "Czech-Taiwanese B2B Meetings" jointly organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, CzechTrade, and Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber, was held in Prague of the Czech Republic on October 25th. The event featured 179 business talks for 57 Taiwanese firms and 119 Czech firms, which covered smart cities, public transportation, water treatment, information communications, and food products.

Through this conference, two leading Czech manufacturers with large-scale production lines for mass transportation sought collaboration with Taiwanese firms on electric vehicles (EVs) and new automotive technologies. Large Czech telecom companies and renowned food consortiums also looked for possibilities to cooperate with Taiwanese businesses via matchmaking opportunities. In addition, the complementary advantages between Czech space technology and Taiwan's information technology offer plenty of room for cooperation. Industry participants from both countries proclaimed this conference highly effective.

The Czech Republic lies in the advantageous heartland of Central Europe. It has an industrialized foundation with highly skilled laborers. Since Taiwan and the Czech Republic are both export-oriented countries with complementary economic and trade structures, bilateral trade has continued to grow, hitting a 10-year high of US$890 million in 2020.

The trade delegation and matchmaking event helped deepen exchanges between Taiwanese and Czech businesses, while strengthening bilateral partnership on industrial supply chains.
