Taiwan Trade and Investment Delegation Visits Lithuania
The "2021 Taiwan-Lithuania Business Networking" jointly organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and Enterprise Lithuania, was held on October 28th.  It featured 240 online and offline trade talks between more than 150 Lithuanian firms and various Taiwanese firms. Both sides extensively discussed agricultural and food products, as well as lasers and optical products. Such interaction was expected to generate business opportunities worth over US$10 million.

Jan Hung-Tze, chairman of PChome Online, said at the event that PChome will soon launch a dedicated gallery to showcase a number of Lithuanian items in an effort to make them more easily available to Taiwanese consumers. Daina Klepone, managing director at Enterprise Lithuania, and Irma Slaiciunaite-Cerniauskiene, head of exhibitions and business missions organization division at Litfood, introduced Lithuanian products in the hope that Taiwan can deepen commercial cooperation with Lithuania.

According to the BOFT, Lithuania's laser equipment and technology are renowned internationally, while Taiwan's semiconductors, electric vehicles, and defense and aerospace industries are important markets for laser technology applications. The laser industries in Taiwan and Lithuania are complementary in terms of technology, products, talents, and applications.

This event opened up opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in various fields. By cooperating in different areas and holding trade activities, Taiwan's partnership with Central and Eastern European countries is expected to scale up in the future.
