Yang Po-Keng, the EPZA Director-General, said that the Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II is a continuation of the key industries from Kaohsiung Software Park. Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II aims to develop information software, digital content and smart applications and other related industries and combined with the Asia New Bay Area 5GAIoT innovation Park program and the resources of various ministries and associations, providing a field for 5G AIoT RD, testing, and application development, and jointly build an important technology industry settlement in southern Taiwan.
The base is currently part of the Xinguang Parking Lot. The infrastructure project will continue the current status of the entrance and exit of the Xinguang Parking Lot and a 20-meter L-shaped road network will be set up on the south side of the base to connect to the Kaohsiung Software Park. The Kaohsiung Software Park Phrase II adopts the plan of the separation of people and vehicles and reserves the sidewalks for the use of public transportation systems such as buses and light rail transit to pass in and out of the park. The project is entrusted by EPZA to the Construction Office of Public Works Bureau, Kaohsiung City Government to execute. The main contents of the project are asphalt concrete pavement layout and installation of drainage systems, sewage systems, broadband pipelines, sidewalks, lighting systems, and so on. The construction period is 320 calendar days and is expected to be completed in February 2023.
