The Kaohsiung Asia New Bay Area is the domestic biggest 5G AIoT experimental field. To expand the scale of northern digital technology industrial cluster, the Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) now implementing the Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II development Program (Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II). On July 29, 2022, EPZA collaborated with Institute for Information Industry (III) jointly held the "investment solicitation conference of Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II development Program, Taipei session", attracting King Kit Technology Co., Ltd., Marketech International Corp., Cisco Systems Taiwan Ltd., and TECO Electric and Machinery Co., Ltd. and many other manufacturers to participate and acquire the investment information. It is estimated that the output value could be increase about NTD3.3 billion and create 2,500 employment opportunities after finishing the development in the future.
Yang Po-Keng, the EPZA Director-General, indicated that the reason of second session of the Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II investment solicitation conference was held in Taipei Nangang Software Park because it is the first park in Taiwan that is dominated by software companies and the northern area has many supply chains for the information industry companies. The Kaohsiung Software Park Phase I in the south has formed a southern Taiwan software industry cluster, to expand the scale of the southern and continue the key industries of Kaohsiung Software Park Phase I, Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II will focus on related industries such as information software, digital content, and smart applications. It is believed that Kaohsiung Software Park II is the first choice for northern enterprises to expand their branch.
All eyes have been on the Kaohsiung Software Park II for the past two years. The central ministries have invested tens of billions of resources in the Asia New Bay Area to support the development of industries and MOEA will spend NTD2.6 billion to build the first build in the park. The base of Kaohsiung Software Park II is just next to the Kaohsiung Software Park I, combining the Asia New Bay Area 5G AIoT Innovation Park plan and the resources of various ministries and associations, providing a field for 5G AIoT research and development, testing, and application development. By the investment solicitation conference, it is hoped that the enterprises in the north could know more about Kaohsiung Software Park II and understand that Kaohsiung is a good place and worth investing in, and attract our friends from middle Taiwan to come to Kaohsiung to work hard together.
The investment solicitation conference also invited King Kit Technology Co, Ltd., which has stationed in the Kaohsiung Software Park for 7 years, to share the experience and benefits of entering the park. Shiu, Yi-Shiang, the CEO of King Kit Technology Co., Ltd., said that King Kit technology Co., Ltd. takes Kaohsiung Software Park as the dream starting point. The office space has been expanded twice since 2015. In 2016, the company received an investment of NTD3 million from National Development Fund. In 2019, the company obtained the new patent M572617. At present, more than 400 schools have used the Internet of Things education platform developed by King Kit Technology Co., Ltd. In the process of hard work, EPZA has provided assistance and cares for the company, and there are also well upstream and downstream industrial chains in the park, which enables King Kit Technology Co., Ltd. keep growing up and developing in the park. With the good foundation of the Kaohsiung Software Park, it is believed that with the resources of various ministries and associations, the Kaohsiung Software Park II will be an sparking and outstanding field for the development of southern Taiwan.
The Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II is located in the third specific warehouse and transshipment dedicated zone of the Kaohsiung Multi-functional Commerce  Trade Park. The total area is about 2.45 hectares and is divided into A, B, and C three mounds and the mound A will be built by EPZA. The industries in the park are focusing on knowledge-intensive industries such as 5G, AIoT applications, research and development, testing engaged in digital content, information software, smart application, electronic and telecommunications research and development, etc. EPZA welcomes investors who are interested in investing to apply.
