In response to the return of Taiwanese business and perk up the local economy in Pingtung County, the Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) launched the development program for the expansion of the Pingtung Technology Industrial Park (Pingtung Expansion Area). EPZA collaborated with Institute for Information Industry (III), Pingtung Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee (Pingtung IDIPC) and Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers Association (TTVMA) jointly held the investment solicitation conference on October 28, 2022. The conference attracted about 50 enterprises participated, such as Harvard Enterprises Inc., Acmepoint Energy Services Co., Ltd., HAN-WIN Technology Co., Ltd., and TAIWAN Hipoint Corp., etc., and the atmosphere was lively and interactive!
You, Shu-Huei, the chief of EPZA's third division, said that the existing Pingtung Technology Industrial Park (PTIP) was all rented out. In order to meet the needs of industrial spaces and the expectations of enterprises, the EPZA has strived for nearly 27 hectares of land, which is located on the north side of the adjacent existing park. It is estimated that the second park could promote investment of NTD5 billion, increase output value of NTD10 billion and create 790 job vacancies. It is estimated that public construction will begin by the end of 2022, and manufacturers could build plants at the same time. The Pingtung Science Park is opposite the expansion area base, and the base also neighbors Automotive Industry Park and Liukuaicuo Industrial Park, which has strong industrial cluster effects. It is believed that with the promotion of the central and local policies, stationing into the Pingtung Expansion Area will connect the industrial settlements in Pingtung and the enterprises will surely be able to create a new career height.
This investment solicitation conference was the finale of the year. Participating enterprises held on to chance to ask questions enthusiastically, and wanted to know more about the latest information on the Pingtung Expansion Area. The EPZA also patiently answered various issues, from the land area, type of the station, the review process of station, and preferential measures. EPZA hopes that enterprises in the north that need building plants could seize the opportunity to come to Pingtung and station into the Pingtung Technology Industrial Park Phase II.
The Pingtung Expansion Area is located on the northwest side of the PTIP. It covers a total area of 26.86 hectares and includes 17.76 hectares of land for the production business, and the whole area is divided into 6 mound blocks. The land is 'only for rent not for sale', which could assist manufacturers to save the cost of buying lands. Moreover, under specified conditions, enterprises could also have the exemption from import taxes, goods tax, and business tax, so that enterprises could have cost advantages and create competitiveness.
In addition to the cost advantages and industrial cluster effect, the Pingtung Expansion Area is also located in the core position of the Pingtung High-Speed Rail Specific Area, which has been planned by the Executive Yuan. In the future, the high-speed rail, the Taiwan Railway, and the express rail will be jointly constructed, it takes only 3 minutes for enterprises to bond for High-speed rail and 3 minutes for the Taiwan Railway. The Pingtung Expansion Area is less than 2 kilometers away from the GaoPing Bridge, it takes 10 minutes to cross the bridge to reach Kaohsiung City. The Pingtung Expansion Area will form an urban living area with Kaohsiung City, enterprises negotiate business from south to north, and the traffic flow of customers and logistics is unobstructed. Enterprises that are engaged in plastic products, metal products, electronic components, electrical equipment, machinery equipment, automobile and automobile parts manufacturing, and other low-pollution industries with the need of building factories are welcome to invest in Pingtung to seize the business opportunities.
