Resilience Taiwan: The First Offline Procurement Meeting Held since the Easing of Border Restrictions
On November 24, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) held the Resilience Taiwan: Supply Chain Partnership Conference. Buyers from 40 countries met with Taiwanese manufacturers of the ICT, electric vehicle, machine, and textile industries for procurement negotiations. This was the first offline procurement meeting to be held after the government eased border restrictions in October.

The buyers came to Taiwan for procurement meetings that mainly focused on ICT products, electric vehicles and recharging equipment, mechanical devices, smart manufacturing goods, textiles, as well as rubber and plastic products. Cooperation on Metaverse-related industries, including digital animation, computer games, and software technology was also on the agenda. The event helped 270 buyers from 40 countries engage in 1,700 negotiation meetings with 500 Taiwanese manufacturers.

Despite the challenges of global inflation and rising interest rates, the BOFT still works hard to support Taiwanese manufacturers in attracting overseas buyers, pursuing trade opportunities, and strengthening supply chain partnerships.
