Hosted by the TAITRA, the 2021 Food Taipei Mega Shows took place at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 and 2 from December 22 (Wednesday) to December 25 (Saturday).

In his opening speech, Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Vice Minister Chuan-Neng Lin said that the export trade of the food industry has maintained positive growth in recent years and that we are going to keep this good record the next year. He said Food Taipei Mega Shows not only play an important role in market expansion, but also showcase the good and affirmative development of the food industry. They provide people a chance to taste culinary masterpieces from Taiwan and the world, share business information and happiness as they taste delicious cuisine. He encouraged manufacturers to innovate and integrate ICT technology into their operations, thus creating more value and sustainability.

Food Taipei Mega Shows bring together the Food Taipei Show, Foodtech Taipei Show, Bio/ Pharmatech Taiwan Show, Taipei Pack Show and Taiwan HORECA Show. Many international distributors and industry insiders display their exotic food; it is Taiwan brand of an international expo. Lithuania, a European Baltic country, friendly to Taiwan, set up special booths for the first time and showcased its chocolate, beer, tea and many charming food products. Many City Governments also assisted local food companies to set up the Taiwan Flavors pavilion to promote local food products and make the food exhibition more diverse and lively.

The four-day event had attracted over 20,000 people and qualified buyers. For international buyers who were unable to visit the exhibition in Taiwan and meet exhibitors face to face, Bureau of Foreign Trade has arranged online sourcing and procurement meetings, a great help for the domestic food industry to acquire more international business opportunities.
