The competition features two main categories: AI Applications and IC Design, with a top prize of NT$1 million. Building on the inaugural event's mission to catalyze key AI innovations and attract international talent, this year's awards introduce a new focus: encouraging developers to leverage global resources like GitHub to fine-tune AI models that meet local demands. Furthermore, the MOEA is actively inviting international enterprises to Taiwan to collaborate with the nation's robust semiconductor supply chain in creating cutting-edge Edge AI solutions. Registration is open from today until March 16, and large enterprises, SMEs, startups, students, and international teams are invited to participate.

Earlier today (Dec. 4th), the Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) opened its pavilion at the “2025 Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan” and presented 15 cutting-edge medical technology achievements, including smart medical devices, precision testing, regenerative repair and process innovation, with Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Development Center for Biotechnology (DCB). These outcomes demonstrate that Taiwan has the capability to conduct independent research and development, as well as the capability to commercialize smart healthcare core technologies and clinical applications. DoIT also witnessed the signing of an agreement between the MIRDC and Formosa Heavy Industries for the technology licensing of the "Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) Treatment System," which signifies that a domestically developed key technology for rTMS has officially moved towards commercial application.

The award-winning technologies include three from the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), one from the Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI), one from the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) (which also received a Special Recognition award), and one from the Institute for Information Industry (III). The winning technologies span key fields including AI, biomedical and healthcare, and green technology. Standing alongside world-renowned institutions, Taiwan's robust innovation and R&D capabilities are once again showcased on the international stage.
