Premier Chen Chien-jen Presents Awards to 14 Winners of the 27th National Quality Award

Premier Chen Chien-jen presented the awards and took a group photo with the 14 winners of the 27th National Quality Award.
The 27th National Quality Award Ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, was held at the Taipei International Convention Center on February 21, 2024. Fourteen winners approved by the Executive Yuan received the trophy from Premier Chen Chien-jen. 300 guests were invited and the events was also live-streamed on the Facebook of the Industrial Development Administration In his address, Premier Chen highlighted Taiwan's outstanding quality of business and management in areas such as healthcare, travel, and transportation. According to the InterNations Top 10 list, Taiwan secured 2nd place globally and 1st in Asia. Additionally, the latest IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook (2023) ranked Taiwan 6th place globally and 1st among countries with a population over 20 million for three consecutive years. "The pursuit of quality knows no bounds; we strive not for perfection, but for continuous improvement." Premier Chen encouraged all sectors to adapt to emerging trends, innovate, and enhance management practices to make Taiwan even more resilient.

Minister Wang Mei-hua of MoEA expressed gratitude for Premier Chen's presence at the ceremony and thanked the appraisal committee for guiding continuous improvement efforts. Through these awards, Taiwan's exceptional performance and high-quality standards are showcased to the world. Minister Wang also introduced the winners and their respective award categories:

Business Excellent Award

1. Shiny Brands Group Co., Ltd., established seven proprietary brands and operates a self-owned biotech cosmetics laboratory.
2.Car Quality Automotive Co., Ltd. is the largest automotive department store chain in Taiwan.
3.Orientea Enterprise Co., Ltd., collaborated with farmers in the Jhaoyang Community for non-toxic cultivation of over 6,000 bitter tea trees, earning three B CorpsTM Certifications.
4.Chang Jung Christian University assisted the Ministry of Environment in reducing the severely polluted section of the Erren River to 14% of its original length.
5.SYSCOM Computer Engineering Co. is the only information service provider to pass the CMMI Level 5, the highest level of international software quality evaluation twice in Taiwan.
6.Automotive Research & Testing Center established Taiwan's first enclosed autonomous vehicle testing laboratory, crucial for the transformation of electric vehicles in Taiwan.

Taiwan was the first Asian country to establish the National Quality Award, guided by the principles of "high-level leadership, full participation, continuous improvement, and the pursuit of excellence." These awards recognize outstanding performance in business management, set benchmark for learning, and elevate overall quality standards in Taiwan. Since 1990, a total of 185 companies, organizations, and individuals have received this prestigious honor.
