According to the statistics, 693 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$1,698,954,000 were approved from January to April 2024. This indicates an increase of 0.87% in the number of cases, but a decrease of 48.63% in FDI amount compared to the same period of 2023.

With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 11 cases were approved with an amount of US$11,217,000 from January to April 2024. This indicates an increase of 22.22% in the number of cases, but a decrease of 9.88% in the FDI amount compared to the same period of 2023. From July 2009 to April 2024, 1,597 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$2,607,162,000.

In terms of Taiwan's outbound investment (excluding Mainland China), 243 projects were registered from January to April 2024 with a total amount of US$12,000,299,000, indicating an increase of 50.93% in the number of cases, and an increase of 61.10% in the amount, as compared to the same period of 2023.

As for Taiwan's outward investment to Mainland China, 94 applications have been approved from January to April 2024, indicating a decrease of 22.31% compared to the same period of 2023. The approved investment amount is US$1,082,292,000, 19.76% more than the same period in 2023.
