"Taiwan Select" Foods Enter AEON Supermarkets in Malaysia
The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) is promoting  "Taiwan Select" brands for joint marketing to help small and medium-sized food enterprises enter global markets. The first stop is showcasing over 40 brands and 150 specialty products, including mochi and sauces, in Malaysia’s AEON supermarkets.

Starting from the end of August, "Taiwan Select" sections have been set up in three AEON supermarket locations in Malaysia. These sections feature well-known Taiwanese brands, offering a variety of products from beverages, snacks, and sauces to ready-to-eat meal kits and health foods. Popular items among local consumers, such as Taiwanese mochi, sparkling drinks, and dried tofu, will also be available, bringing a taste of Taiwan to Malaysian supermarkets.

The main goal of promoting "Taiwan Select" is to facilitate the food industry’s successful entry into overseas markets. This effort includes various marketing promotions tailored to different market orientations and selecting specific products to meet overseas consumer preferences. After Malaysia, the next promotional event will take place in October at specialty food stores in California, USA, followed by more exhibitions and events in other states of the USA, New Zealand, Singapore, and Japan, as well as listings on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and eBay.

The International Trade Administration (TITA) noted that the "Taiwan Select" section in AEON supermarkets will regularly host promotional and free tasting events every weekend. From November 15 to 19, there will be a fun pop-up event with key media, buyers, and influencers from Malaysia participating, thereby expanding the promotional effect and allowing more people to experience the diverse culinary charm of Taiwan beyond bubble tea and pineapple cakes.
