The launch ceremony for the 2019 Industrial Technical Instructor Training Program was held on Aug. 5, with Department of International Cooperation Deputy Director General Shih-Chou Huang delivering opening remarks at the gathering.

This marks the 16th year that the Ministry of Economic Affairs has sponsored and hosted the program, whose aim is to share Taiwan's experience in industrial development with other countries.

“Smart machinery,” one of the “five plus two” innovative industries whose development President Tsai Ing-wen’s administration has been actively fostering, has been selected as the focus of the training course being offered under the program this year.

A total of 10 participants from Cambodia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Poland, Slovakia, Thailand and Vietnam are taking part in this year’s program.
