The 2023 Young Pin Design Award held its grand award ceremony on May 21st at Hall 2 of the Nangang Exhibition Center,unveiling the list of winners for the year! This year, a total of 9 "Best of Young Pin Design Awards,"51"" Young Pin Design Awards,"3" Young Pin Design Special Awards for Circular Design,"3" Young Pin Special Awards for Packaging Design,"3" Young Pin Packaging Reduction Design Sponsor Awards," and 58 "Young Pin Sponsor Awards" were presented.The most anticipated moment was the announcement of the 9 winners of the "Best of Young Pin Design Awards," presented by representatives of the jury.This 9 winning students will receive a cash prize of 100,000 NTD and a certificate, recognizing their hard work and outstanding achievements.

The Young Pin Design Award is jointly supervised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Education, organized by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and executed by the Taiwan Design Research Institute and Good Design Association, Taiwan. Minister Wang Mei-hua of the Ministry of Economic Affairs delivered a speech at the award ceremony,expressing her delight at the physical exhibition of the Young Designers' Exhibition(YODEX)after a hiatus and witnessing the abundant creative energy demonstrated by young designers.

Minister Wang also mentioned her earlier visit to the traditional market in Longtan, Taoyuan, where she witnessed the results of the Ministry of Economic Affairs' efforts in market transformation.She shared how design can inject new vitality into traditional markets and encouraged young students to understand that design is not only about personal creativity but also about considering how design can help society. Finally, she noted that among the selected works in this year's Young Designers' Exhibition and the Young Pin Design Award, it is pleasing to see many excellent designs responding to the international trend of sustainability. She expressed her hope that young designers will continue to work hard and engage in interdisciplinary learning, utilizing creativity to bring more innovative solutions for industries, the environment, and society.

This year,there were a total of 5,005 entries from 55 schools and 121 departments across Taiwan participating in the competition. During the preliminary stage,726 works were selected as finalists, receiving recognition as "Young Pin Design Award Finalists." The final selection took place on May 19th at the Young Designers' Exhibition, where 128 works emerged as victorious in a fiercely competitive competition. The Young Pin Design Award encompasses nine categories, including Product Design, Craft Design, Spatial Design, Fashion Design,Communication Design, Digital Imaging, Digital Interaction, Industry-Academia Collaboration,and Social Design. The "Best of Young Pin Design Award" is presented to the work that receives the highest acclaim from the jury.
