To provide reference for the public to purchase energy-saving vehicles, the Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, not only publishes latest information on certified vehicles online every month, but also compiles the annual "Vehicle Fuel Economy Guide." Moreover, to encourage the public to purchase electric vehicles, the "2022 Vehicle Fuel Economy Guide" also includes information of electric vehicles that have been tested and certified (please refer to the webpage titled "Electric Vehicle Energy Efficiency Labeling").

In the fuel-saving vehicle rankings in the 2022 Fuel Economy Guide (non-electric vehicles), Honda FIT A522H1502 1498c.c. A1 5D hybrid model has the best performance in the category of passenger car, with a fuel economy of 26.9 km/liter. In the category of commercial vehicle, PG UNION CORPORATION diesel model CITROEN BERLINGO VAN (XL) 1499c.c. M6 5D leads the way with a fuel economy of 20.1 km/liter. In the category of motorcycle, tested by "Fuel Economy Test Method for Motorcycles", HONDA Super Cub C125 124 c.c. M4 imported by TAO LING INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD. has the top fuel economy of 81.4 km/liter. (see attachment).

According to BOE, in addition to purchasing energy-saving vehicles, correct driving habits and regular maintenance of vehicles are also important to energy conservation and carbon reduction, such as reducing vehicle load, smooth acceleration and deceleration, keeping normal tire pressure, and avoiding long periods of idling.

The BOE underscores that the published values in the 2022 Vehicle Fuel Economy Guide were tested under a specific condition in the labs. When driving on the real roads, the fuel economy will be affected by the climate, traffic condition, AC usage and driving habits; hence the actual number of kilometers per liter's fuel traveled on the road should be lower than the published value in the guide.
