Hits: 52
The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in cooperation with the Asia Low Emission Development Strategies Global Partnership (ALP) jointly organized Community of Practice (CoP) online seminars on "Promotion Policy of Offshore Wind" and "Restoration Techniques of the Seagrass Meadows" on June 6 and 13, respectively. The seminars attracted participants from a dozen countries to learn about Taiwan's de-carbonization efforts.

At the "Promotion Policy of Offshore Wind in Taiwan" seminar, officials from the Single Service Window for Wind Power under the MOEA's Bureau of Energy showcased Taiwan's experience in offshore wind energy development, including government policies, set targets, ongoing progress and future plans.

The "Restoration Techniques of the Seagrass Meadows" seminar featured speakers from the Penghu Marine Biology Research Center and National Chung Hsing University giving presentations on seagrass restoration efforts in Penghu waters, including insights into the reasons for the seagrass loss and the restoration methods being employed.

In addition to representatives from Taiwan industry, government and academia, more than 30 participants from countries around South Asia took part in the seminars to gain a better understanding of Taiwan's relevant experience.

This is the second year that the MOEA has collaborated with ALP on organizing CoP online seminars, following the success of last year's events. The seminars not only enhance Taiwan's visibility in the international community but also help to generate more potential green energy business opportunities for advancing climate goals.
