Three manufacturers in the Technology Industry Industrial Parks received project subsidies for factory building micro-plastic surgery.
In order to promote the renewal of the appearance of the factories in the Technology Industrial Parks (TIPs) and improve the overall aesthetics, the Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has budgeted funds every year since 2015. Through the joint efforts of the public and private sectors, provided subsidies for the early-developing manufacturers in the park such as Nanzih, Cianjhen, and Tanzi to conduct factory renovation and maintenance and surrounding greening and beautification. This year, three manufacturers were reviewed and approved by experts and scholars. The EPZA will provide a subsidy of NTD2.5 million first. It is expected that manufacturers will be attracted to invest NTD 12.3 million for renovation by the end of the year.
EPZA indicated that due to the three Technology Industrial Parks, Cianjhen, Nanzih, and Tanzi, having been established for more than 50 years, some old factories need to be renovated, updated, and beautified. The EPZA has been cooperating with the public and private sectors to promote renovation since 2015. In addition to upgrading public facilities in the region, the public sector has also been promoting subsidized private-sector factories to reshape their appearance over the past nine years and has received strong support from manufacturers in the parks. By the end of 2022, a total of 35 projects had been completed, with subsidies of NTD22.7 million, manufacturers' investment of approximately NTD250 million, and an area of about 66,000 square meters renovated. The achievements were fruitful.
The EPZA further illustrated that the approved manufacturers that received project subsidies this year include Nanzih TIP's Noporvis Co., Ltd. In response to the company becoming GISA Company last year, Noporvis Co., Ltd. will conduct large-area painting and renovation of the factory building, symbolizing the company moving forward a new next stage; Cianjhen TIP's STL Technology Co., Ltd., due to part of walls and cement starting to crack and peel, the safety of the factory building has been decreased. Therefore, STL Technology Co., Ltd. has budged a large fund to carry out comprehensive factory renewal and maintenance to improve the safety and appearance coordination of the factory. In addition, Taiwan Matsuo Co., Ltd., in the Cianjhen TIP as well, has renovated the exterior walls of the company's third phrase factory building, and has applied for approximately NTD900 thousand in renovated subsidies from EPZA.
EPZA emphasized that although it is very difficult to renovate old factory buildings, it is an opportunity for parks to be reborn, especially since the Export Processing Zone will conduct organizational transformation on September 26 and be restructured into the "Bureau of Industrial Parks". In order to exhibit a new look, the EPZA has decided to list the park's architectural landscape and style improvement as a long-term task. Budgeting funds every year to continue to promote the subsidy program for the old factory building renewal, and announce the acceptance of applications for manufacturers, improving the park's basic facilities and functions at the same time. Creating a sustainable and high-quality park environment and a happy park through public-private collaboration.
