The 8th "Taisugar Charity Run" is set to take place on December 16th at the Taisugar Liuying Jianshanpi Resort in Liuying District, Tainan City. Registration for the event is now open online, and Taisugar cordially invites the public to join the meaningful event. In keeping with the spirit of charity, this year's run will donate the equivalent of NT$50 worth of goods to the Tainan Mental Disability Care Association for each registered participant. This contribution is intended to support the training of individuals with disabilities, helping them acquire valuable skills to integrate into the workforce and society at large. Renowned blind runner Hsin-Ting Lin, the spokesperson for the run, will also participate, making it a "Run for Love" and a "Run for Eye."
According to Ming-Jou Yang, Chairman of Taiwan Sugar Corporation, Taisugar Charity Run is now on its 8th year. Following past practice, this year, Taisugar has extended an invitation to charitable organizations to participate, allowing participants not only to run for their health but also to join hands with Taisugar in its philanthropic efforts and in caring for the underprivileged. Taisugar has extended a special invitation to visually impaired runner Hsin-Ting Lin to serve as the official spokesperson. Hsin-Ting Lin, undaunted by physical limitations, is widely recognized for his exceptional abilities in sports, singing and dancing. He fearlessly lives his life to the fullest, serving as an inspiring and uplifting figure, while also drawing attention to the issues faced by individuals with physical and mental disabilities.
Taisugar has detailed that this year's event will offer three different route options: 21 kilometers, 11 kilometers and 3 kilometers, allowing runners to choose according to their preferences and abilities. The 3 kilometers route is suitable for beginners, families and active seniors, taking participants from the reservoir, past the Dam, the "Zuiyue Xiaolou" (Drunken Moon Villa), through the vast grasslands, and ending at the West Pier, offering expansive and beautiful views of the Jianshanpi Resort along the way. The 11 kilometers route extends beyond the resort, winding through the rural roads of Liuying Township, where runners can enjoy the gentle breeze. The longest route, spanning 21 kilometers, will take runners through the Yoichi Hatta Memorial Park before turning back at the Wushantou Reservoir.
Participants in this year's charity run event will receive a commemorative moisture-wicking shirt upon completing their registration. Finishers will be rewarded with a variety of goodies, including Taisugar Fructooligosaccharide, Organic Rice, and a practical Taisugar eco-friendly tote bag. What's more, the finisher's medal is specially designed with the image of the collared scops owl and the kingfisher, both of which can be found year-round within the Jianshanpi Resort. In addition, there will be a charity market, a food area, a merchandise sales section, and a sugarcane industry cultural experience area across various booths. It's time to act and join in the fun!
