To expand the scale of the digital technology industry cluster in the south, The Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) launched the development program for the expansion of the Pingtung Technology Industrial Park and the Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II. On September 8, 2023, EPZA held the "Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II and Pingtung Technology Industrial Park Expansion Investment Solicitation Convention" at Nangang Software Park Conference Center. Nearly 100 companies participated in active exchanges on-site and online, and EPZA listened to the needs of northern manufacturers and urged manufacturers to extend their business presence into the Great South.
The EPZA Director-General Yang, Po-Keng, said that the S Technology Corridor has been formed in the south. The investment solicitation convention also introduced the Kaohsiung Software Phase II and the Pingtung Technology Industrial Park Expansion at the same time and provided relevant counseling resources for companies stationed in the park. Including resources from corporation juridical persons and academia, there are direct corresponding services in terms of technology research and development, market expansion, operating regulations, and even resource subsidy applications, allowing the company to achieve considerable and rapid growth in the innovative process. The Kaohsiung Software Park Phase II is located on the north side of Kaohsiung Software Phase I, the building introduces the architectural design concept of 5G AIoT, through multiple intelligent technology equipment combined with 5G AIoT demonstration field applications, to provide manufacturers with multiple intelligent convenient services, which will be a new iconic highlight in Kaohsiung Asia New Bay Area. The investment solicitation convention focuses on industries such as information software, digital content, and smart applications, it is estimated that the output value could be increased by NTD3.3, and 2,500 job vacancies are expected to be created. The Pingtung Expansion is an important part of the "Great South, Great Development-the Southern Taiwan Development Policy", with a total area of 26.86 hectares, and 17.76 hectares of land for the production business, and the whole area is divided into 6 mounds blocks, and the demarcation of plant land is divided by the double cross axis lines, the land is 'only for rent not for sales'. The public construction of the park started in May this year, and manufacturers will be able to build factories at the same time. It is estimated that investment will be promoted by NTD5 billion, output value will be increased by NTD10 billion, and 790 job vacancies will be created.
