The Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA recently unveiled the list of "Taiwan Golden Selection" for 2023. 38 businesses with 41 items have been selected . This selection event, themed around "Sustainable Travel light,"aims to guide MIT enterprises in re-sponding to global trends of green sustainability and achieving net-zero emissions. The focus is on developing products that incor-porate the principles of Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse. The event un-derscores the importance of domestic travel light as a means of re-laxation and stress relief. It encourages the public to engage in local travel and consider purchasing MIT Golden Selection green products, choosing eco-friendly accommodations, and utilizing public trans-portation. These choices collectively contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions and embracing a greener lifestyle.
To make it easier for consumers to identify and purchase high-quality MIT products, the IDB initiated the "Taiwan-Made Prod-uct MIT Smile Logo" in 2010. MIT Smile products that meet the iden-tification of product origin and quality certification. To further en-courage enterprises to enhance their MIT products, the IDB initiated the "Taiwan Golden Selection" event in 2014.  This initiative en-courages ongoing innovation to develop products that encompass aesthetics, quality, and value. Over the past 10 years, a total of 563 Gold Selection products have been recognized.
In response to the post-pandemic resurgence of domestic and international tourism, this year's "Taiwan Golden Selection" event is centered around the theme of "Sustainable Travel light." The objec-tive is to spotlight sustainable products that align with the principles of green living. By prioritizing the purchase of green Gold Selection products, individuals can make conscious choices during their local travels and encourage accommodation providers to offer eco-friendly amenities. This year, a total of 58 businesses submitted 378 products for selection. After meticulous evaluation by experts in aesthetics, design, and marketing,38 businesses with 41 products were selected. The aim is to guide local businesses from MIT towards DIT, promoting ongoing transformation towards green sustainability and enhancing product competitiveness.

This year's "Taiwan Golden Selection" features a diverse array of products for outdoor activities, hiking, local experiences, and more related to travel light. For instance, "WALKPLUS" offers the seawool sports socks, made from recycled plastic bottles and discarded oyster shells. This innovation not only reduces waste pollution but also provides warmth without discomfort, comparable to wool socks. "ACERPURE" presents the Air Purifier, featuring an energy-efficient DC motor with top-tier energy efficiency certification, ensuring fresh air quality during stays.

In consideration of accommodations that are moving away from disposable amenities,"KUNNEX" introduces the Urban Waterproof Rechargeable 4-in-1 Grooming Kit, capable of handling facial grooming needs with machine washable components, catering to travelers valuing quality and sophistication." AURLIA " showcases the Aurli eco-friendly Clay Cup, crafted from unique clay blends, elimi-nating the need for disposable cups during beverage purchases.

Furthermore, the IDB is compiling the "2023 MIT Taiwan Gold Selection" book to showcase enterprises' commitment and dedication to material research, aesthetic design, and sustainable transformation. This publication will also be featured on the MIT Smiling Logo official website, enhancing public awareness of high-quality green MIT Tai-wan Golden Selection products. By taking tangible actions and prior-itizing the purchase products, encourage local businesses to continue developing superior products.
