In response to the wave of digital transformation, the Bureau of Industrial Parks (BIP) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) is collaborating with the Digital Transformation Research Institute Southern Center of the Institute for Information Industry to assist local businesses in upgrading their industries. Through a three-pronged approach, such as the integration of government counseling resources, expanding overseas markets, and industry-academic collaboration, the BIP injected resources to assist businesses in their upgrading and transformation efforts. In 2023, the BIP assisted 11 companies in obtaining government subsidies and awards, facilitating research and development investments of approximately NT$34 million, and successfully engaging with 75 Japanese companies during a visit to Japan.
The BIP Director-General Yang, Po-Keng, stated that the BIP assists local businesses in various aspects of their operations, including research and development investments, technology exchanges, business expansion, and talent matchmaking. With the reform of the MOEA, the BIP oversees a total of 80 park clusters, comprising 13 Technology Industrial Parks, and 67 Industry Parks, covering over 75% of industrial land nationwide. The BIP will continue to collaborate with information service providers and manufacturing industries to introduce momentums into enterprises and assist in enterprises the sustainable development of businesses.
In terms of accessing government counseling resources, the BIP provides consultancy services for applying for government guidance resources and awards. In this year, 11 companies have been recognized with government subsidies and awards, totaling nearly NT$34 million. For instance, EAI Technologies Inc. has actively promoted a system platform to connect data between upstream and downstream businesses in the screw industry. The BIP's team assisted in planning the platform structure, enabling EAI Technologies Inc. to successfully create the "Green Supply Chain Digital Resilience Platform." This project has received funding through the Digital Service Innovation Subsidy Program and is expected to benefit the screw industry in its low-carbon transformation. The BIP also counseled Eulife Technology Co., Ltd. in successfully applying for subsidies for low-carbon and smart upgrading and transformation in the energy-saving and low-carbon business. Enabling enterprises to seize the opportunity in the trend of smart low-carbonization, use corporate counseling and government resources as promoters, and strengthen their determination to transform!
In terms of expanding into overseas markets, to promote exchanges of technology and business opportunities between manufacturers in the Industrial Parks and Japanese companies, BIP had once again directly connected with the Japanese market after the epidemic. There are Calin Technology Co., Ltd., Noporvis Co., Ltd., Sinpro Electronics Co., Ltd., Hitspectra Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., and iAMBITION Technology Co., Ltd. participated in the "2023 Osaka Mechanical Components & Technology Expo." This exhibition attracted approximately 75 Japanese companies who expressed deep interest in the products of these companies. Major Japanese corporations such as Sharp Corporation, and a Toyota subsidiary have shown keen interest in the hardware and software products of these manufacturers, anticipating subsequent business opportunities exceeding NT$33 million.
Concerning industry-academic collaboration, to help enterprises find the talent needed for sustainable development, the BIP's team has assisted 18 local businesses and academic research units, and facilitated established 4 industry-academic collaborations, providing internship opportunities or positions for students.
