According to the statistics, 511 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$1,222,813,000 were approved from January to March 2024. This indicates a decrease of 4.84% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 53.43% in FDI amount compared to the same period of 2023.

With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 7 cases were approved with an amount of US$10,503,000 from January to March 2024. This indicates a decrease of 12.50% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 7.87% in the FDI amount compared to the same period of 2023. From July 2009 to March 2024, 1,593 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$2,606,448,000.

In terms of Taiwan's outbound investment (excluding Mainland China), 179 projects were registered from January to March 2024 with a total amount of US$11,526,414,000, indicating an increase of 45.53% in the number of cases, and an increase of 67.39% in the amount, as compared to the same period of 2023.

As for Taiwan's outward investment to Mainland China, 77 applications have been approved from January to March 2024, indicating a decrease of 11.49% compared to the same period of 2023. The approved investment amount is US$925,319,000, 22.11% more than the same period in 2023.
