The Bureau of Industrial Parks (BIP), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), announced on August 3 that Nitto Denko (Taiwan) Corp, which has been operating in Taiwan for more than half a century, held a completion ceremony for its new Kaohsiung plant at the Cianjhen Technology Industrial Park in Kaohsiung. With an investment of NT$4.483 billion, Nitto Denko (Taiwan) Corp demolished its existing plant facilities and constructed a new five-story building above one basement level, incorporating both manufacturing and R&D facilities. The new facility has a total floor area of 25,205 square meters and is equipped with production lines for high-performance materials, including PVC films, PVC tapes, and electronic component tapes. These products will be supplied to leading global semiconductor and automotive manufacturers. The new plant is expected to increase the company's annual revenue by NT$200 million.
The BIP Deputy Director-General Liu Chi-Chuan said that Japan has long been one of Taiwan's key economic and trade partners as well as an important source of foreign investment. Taiwan and Japan maintain close cooperation in areas including industry, technology, and talent development. Nitto Denko (Taiwan)'s continued investment in Taiwan not only reflects the strong foundation of Taiwan-Japan industrial cooperation, but also highlights Taiwan's critical role in key supply chains for semiconductor and automotive applications. The investment is expected to serve as an important indicator of industrial upgrading and enhanced overall competitiveness in the industrial park.

Now in its 57th year of operations in Taiwan, Nitto Denko (Taiwan) Corp has established a long-term presence in the Cianjhen Technology Industrial Park. The completion and operation of the new Kaohsiung plant will not only expand production capacity, but also strengthen product development and manufacturing capabilities through the establishment of an R&D building, thereby enhancing the company's competitiveness and contributing to industrial development.
The BIP emphasized that amid the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the restructuring of global supply chains, corporate innovation capabilities and supply chain resilience have become key factors in industrial competitiveness. The government will continue to create a favorable investment environment for industrial development, assist companies in moving toward higher-value-added and differentiated products and services, enhance industrial competitiveness, and seize new business opportunities in global markets.
The completion ceremony was attended by BIP Deputy Director-General Liu Chi-Chuan, Nitto Denko (Taiwan) Corp Chairman Kenjiro Meima, and distinguished guests from various sectors, who jointly witnessed the milestone.
