BOFT Deputy Director General Guann-Jyh Lee was invited by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) to attend the 22nd Amity Conference of Overseas Compatriots in Africa and explain the MOEA’s goal of strengthening commercial relations between Taiwan and Africa. About 100 Taiwanese participated online from Africa.

The inaugural ceremony of the Amity Conference of Overseas Compatriots in Africa and its first conference were held on 30 June 1978 in South Africa, comprising over 40 years. The biannual conference offers participants an excellent platform to gather, associate, communicate and exchange experiences and expertise with each other. It has played a significant role in promoting unity among overseas compatriots in Africa, bolstering the prosperity and development of their communities, and consolidating their strong support for Taiwan.
