The Ministry of Economic Affairs hosted a joint award ceremony for the 8th National Industrial Innovation Award and the 2022 National Invention and Creation Award on May 15, 2023, with 89 awards presented by Vice Premier Cheng Wen-tsan and Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua. The winners demonstrated the innovative essence of Taiwan's industry in sustainability, AI democratization, and the semiconductor supply chain, exemplifying how domestic industry development aligns with global trends. These trends encompass four dimensions: firstly, the pursuit of a low-carbon future, evidenced in the research and development of four-wheel electric vehicles, electronic paper, and low-carbon agricultural biotechnology; secondly, the broadening utilization of AI in fields such as electric vehicle assistance systems, healthcare, and fintech; thirdly, Taiwan's fully-fledged semiconductor industry chain; and lastly, Taiwan's prowess in medical care. Adding a heartwarming touch to the event, an award-winning company exhibited its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating NT$ 1 million as a dream fund to a rural elementary school. This infused a compassionate spirit to the ceremony, encouraging businesses to give back to society.
